Aleea’s work is bold, risky, and fun. She uses toy-like shapes, drips, splatters, and textures to capture a playful spirit. She paints in layers with acrylics, sometimes using collage to add depth, and markers and crayons to add interest. Inspired by her love for interior design, Aleea’s paintings often end up in the kind of homes she sees in her favorite shelter magazines. Aleea is a self-taught artist who grew up on Lake Saint Clair in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, where she watched colorful sailboats drift by. Today, she uses the same vibrant hues in her art that she found on the lake. Aleea creates art that makes a home memorable and keeps guests talking long after they’ve gone.
