This antique textile is from India and probably once laid across a table. What strikes me first is the delectable color combo of burnt orange and the peeks of blue. The orange silk layer has been hand embroidered in ivory, black, green and bright orange. There are tears in the silk revealing the cotton layer beneath. This has been hand blocked in blue flowers. This is a perfect example of how something that seems damaged is actually revealing itself with new beauty. It is perfectly imperfect.
We have presented this against a soft, ivory linen background and framed with a detailed, carved, hand-painted frame.
