This is second in a pair of vintage gold leafed intaglios featuring Greek imagery. The intaglio itself is in excellent vintage condition with a slight chip in the upper edge of the disk. To give this a contemporary spin I hand painted thick artist paper in swaths of white and black setting off the round, gold relief. The gold leaf from the intaglio is picked up again in the framing detail with a delicate filet inset and two custom mouldings, one a white lacquer wood and the other a high gloss "pie crust".
