This is a fabulous antique textile from Turkey. Pieces such as this were used to decorated the outside of a nomad’s tent. It has been exquisitely embroidered and embellished. The long tassels are made from tiny seed beads and rope. I have paired this textile with a black and white, hand blocked fabric. The unique and multi-layered details in the shadow box framing really make this piece special. Under glass.
